Handy Address Book Server:
Installing Handy Address Book Server is easy. It installs just
like any other Windows application.
Download and run the setup program on your server to install Handy Address Book Server.
Handy Address Book Server runs on Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.
No other software is required, the program comes with a built-in web server.
To start the server, select it from "Start / All Programs / Handy Address
Book Server".
Later you may wish to have the program run as a
service, but until you get the settings
configured it
is best to use the above method.
Handy Address Book CGI:
Handy Address Book CGI installs like any Perl program. Visit the
download page to obtain a copy of the program, and extract it into the cgi-bin
directory on your web server. When uploading to your server, use the ASCII
(not BINARY) transfer method. After uploading you will have the file
ahabc.pl and a folder AHABC. Double check that ahabc.pl has "execute"
permissions for everyone.
If your server has Perl installed in a location other than /usr/bin/perl you
may need to modify the first line in ahabc.pl to reflect the actual path of
Perl on your server. Windows based servers often have Perl installed at:
c:/perl/bin/perl.
